Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark July 5, 1926


Mrs. Elizabeth A. Green, widow of William J. Green, a native of Quebec, and for 
the past 40 years a well known resident of Norfolk, died at a local hospital 
yesterday morning at 3:10 o'clock, following a long illness. She is survived by 
three daughters, Mrs. F.R. McLaughlin and Mrs. J.Q. Hosier, of Norfolk and Mrs. 
J.E. Roan, of Miami, Fla.; four sons, John E., Henry V., Michael J. and Daniel 
J. Green, all of Norfolk; one sister, Mrs. Parent, of Ottawa and 21 
grandchildren.
The remains will be taken from the residence at 429 West Twenty-ninth Street to 
the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for funeral services tomorrow morning at 
10 o'clock. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Mrs. Elizabeth A. Green - Funeral services for Mrs. Green were held yesterday 
morning at 10 o’clock at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The services were 
conducted by the Rev. Leo J. Ryan, and the following clergymen were present: the 
Rev. A. A. Brosnan, the Rev. A. J. Taylor, the Rev. John P. Ewens, the Rev. R. 
E. Hannon, the Rev. E. V. Mullarkey, the Rev. P. P. Brennan, the Rev. R. B. 
Kealey and the Rev. J. Vincent Ryan, who delivered an eulogistic address. The 
casket was covered with a double-cluster of Easter lilies and carnations. 
Pallbearers were R. M. Eastwood, R. R. Quigley, William Walsh, W. R. Moore, John 
Milan, John A. Baecher, M. J. Lyons and T. F. Hennessy. Burial was in St. Mary’s 
Cemetery.
