Mr. Green was widely known in shipping circles, having for many years been in the stevedoring business. He was a native of Quebec, Canada, and had been a resident of Norfolk forty-one years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth A. Green; three daughters, Mrs. F.R. McLaughlin and Mrs. James Q. Hozier, of Norfolk and Mrs. J.S. Roan, of Miami, Fla.; four sons, John E., Harry V., Michael J. and Daniel J. Green, of Norfolk; a brother, M.J. Green, of Hampton; a sister, Mrs. Stephen Howell, of Detroit and eighteen grandchildren. He was a member of Norfolk Lodge, B.P.O.E. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 o'clock Thursday morning at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament. Leo J. Ryan; deacon, Rev. E. V. Mullarkey; sub-deacon, Rev. Michael Hartigan; master of ceremonies, Rev. Joseph P. Garcia. Rev. Francis J. McCourt, of Wilmington, N.C., was also present. Mrs. James Hughes sang, "Nearer, My God to Thee." The pallbearers were J. E. Prince, John Mariner, J. A. Baecher, John F. Lawler, William Walsh, R. R. Quigley, George M. Hepple, T. J. Hanlon, M. J. Ryan and John Crowley. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
