                 Body of Former Policeman Found In Vacant House

Daniel J. Green, aged 38, former member of the Norfolk Police Department, was 
found dead yesterday morning about 7:30 o'clock in a vacant house at 504 East 
Freemason Street. Detective Leon Nowitzky, official coroner's investigator, 
examined the body and said death was due to natural causes.
Green was a member of the Police Department from June, 1923 until August, 1927, 
when he resigned. He was a native of Norfolk and had lived here most of his 
life. He is survived by his wife and two children, Daniel J., Jr. and Estelle 
Green; three sisters, Mrs. F.R. McLaughlin and Mrs. J.Q. Hozier, of Norfolk and 
Mrs. John S. Roane, of Miami, Fla. and three brothers, John E., J.V. and M.J. 
Green, all of Norfolk.
The body will be taken from the residence of his brother-in-law, F.R. 
McLaughlin, 431 West Twenty-ninth Street, to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church 
for funeral services tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock. Burial will be in St. 
Mary's Cemetery.

GREEN, DANIEL J. - Suddenly, on Thursday morning, August 13th, 1931, Daniel J., 
son of the late William J. and Elizabeth O'Connor Green, in the 39th year of his 
age.
Remains will be taken from the residence of his brother-in-law, F. R. 
McLaughlin, No. 431 West Twenty-ninth Street, to Blessed Sacrament Catholic 
Church, for funeral services Saturday morning at 11 o'clock.  Friends of the 
family are invited to attend.  Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery.
