The Norfolk Virginian Pilot April 26, 1940 
At a local hospital Friday night, April 25, 1940, at 9 o'clock, as the result 
of burns received last Thursday night in her apartment, 420 South Main street, 
MRS. DELLA THOMPSON GREENING, wife of Eugene Greening, daughter of Mrs. Irene 
Potter Thompson and the late John J. Thompson, aged 35 years. The body was 
removed to the Graham Funeral Home, Jackson and Jefferson streets, South 
Norfolk, pending funeral arrangements.
