The Virginian Pilot Friday January 3, 1958

Vernon L. Gregory, 63, husband of Mrs. Mary Rolland Gregory, died at the 
residence, 660 Wiley Dr. yesterday at 1:45 a.m.
Besides his wife, he is survived by six daughters, Mrs. J.E. Bateman, Mrs. J.M. 
Dudley, Mrs. R.P. Thomas, Mrs. L.E. Nelson and Mrs. N.H. Becker, all of Norfolk, 
and Mrs. F.D. Basham, of Lawrenceville; three sons, Vernon L. Gregory Jr., R.M. 
Gregory and George L. Gregory, and a brother, Capt. J.W. Gregory, all of Norfolk 
and 17 grandchildren.
Mr. Gregory was a lifelong resident of Norfolk. Until his retirement in 1931 he 
had been a member of the Norfolk Fire Division for 12 years. He was a veteran of 
World War I and was employed at the Naval Supply Center for 18 years, retiring 
in 1951.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Sunday at 
3 p.m. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
