He was cremated and a graveside service will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Norfolk at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7, by the Rev. Paul T. Gaughan. Mr. Gregory is survived by his brother, James H. Gregory; sister, Mary Supan Wright; nephews, Michael Wayne Supan, Robert F. Supan Jr. and wife, Celia; and nieces, Sister Constance Supan and Pamela Gregory McGill; great-nephews, Josh and Finn Supan; and great-niece, Lara Supan. Richard was in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II, stationed in Italy. He was a retired employee of the former Taylor-Parker Company of Norfolk and had previously been employed in their Raleigh, N.C., and Hampton branches. He was a resident of the Ocean View section of Norfolk for many years. The family wishes to acknowledge and thank Mrs. “Sandy” Skaggs, a dear friend who regarded Richard as her second father, for her gracious aid and attention during his illness.
