He was a native of North Carolina and had been a resident of Norfolk for 11 years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Gregory; two sons, James H. Jr. and Richard McLaughlin Gregory and one daughter, Mary Mae Gregory, all of Norfolk; his parents, James W. and Margaret Godwin Gregory and three sisters, Mrs. Thomas Hargrove and the Misses Mary and Margaret Gregory, all of North Carolina; three brothers, Lucian Gregory, of Newport News and Bernard and John Gregory, of North Carolina. The body will be taken from the residence, 534 Massachusetts Avenue, Colonial Place, to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for funeral services tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. *************************************************************************** James Haid Gregory - Funeral services for Mr. Gregory, whose death occurred Thursday, were held at 10 a.m. yesterday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, the Rev. Edward L. Stephens officiating. The Rev. John P. Ewen, the Rev. Thomas E. Waters and the Rev. Leo J. Flynn were in the sanctuary. During the service, Mrs. Frank McLaughlin sang, “O Salutaris,” with Miss Kate Gorman as accompanist. There was a large attendance and many floral offerings. The casket was covered with a double cluster of Easter lilies and fern. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Pallbearers were C. E. Wright, Wilbur Brinson, Leo Portlock, W. V. Hart, George Heatherton, J. A. Kennedy, William White and Claude Swinson.
