Virginian-Pilot  January 22, 1945
Anthony Greico, aged 56, husband of Mrs. Lillie Hayes Greico and son of the late 
Joseph and Mrs. Theresa Antonacci Greico, died at a local hospital yesterday 
morning at 2:15 o’clock. Mr. Greico, an employe of the city of Norfolk, was a 
native of Italy and a resident of Norfolk for the past 51 years, residing at 624 
Reservoir avenue at the time of his death. Besides his wife, Mrs. Lillie Hayes 
Greico, he is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. Rosa Ventura, of Philadelphia; 
Mrs. Lena Holland, Mrs. Sadie Wood, Mrs. Mary Boyce, Mrs. Theresa Ristan, Mrs. 
Elsie Pledger, all of Norfolk, and Mrs. Louise Whitson, of California; seven sons, 
Joseph Greico, of California; Johnnie Greico, of Norfolk; Sergt. Frank L. Greico, 
U.S. Army; Private Anthony Greico, Jr., U.S. Army, Sergt. Vincent Greico, U.S. 
Army; Lewis A. Greico, U.S.N., and Master William Greico, of Norfolk; 21 
grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Jennie Papa, of Norfolk, and two cousins, Tony 
Greico and Pasquale DeFrancesco, both of Norfolk.
The body will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to St. Mary’s 
Catholic Church, of which Mr. Greico was a member, for services Saturday morning 
at 10 o’clock. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
