Mrs. Riley Ann Grey, aged 85 died yesterday afternoon at 5:40 o’clock at the 
home of her daughter, Mrs. W.B. Dozier, 2713 Victoria Avenue, after a long 
illness. She was the wife of the late Lubertus J. Grey and daughter of Joseph 
Mills Murphy and Edith Saunders Murphy.

Mrs. Grey was born in Nansemond County and had resided in Norfolk about 40 
years. She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Dozier and Mrs. Harry Trower , 
of Norfolk; Mrs Ella Jones, of Ivor; Mrs W.A. Holland, of Ocean Park, and Mrs. 
R.L. Turner, of Tampa, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. E.B. Trench, of Eclipse; 24 
grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Gregory Funeral Home, 3401 Granby 
Street, tomorrow afternoon at 3 o’clock by the Rev. W. Rush Loving, pastor of 
Spurgeon Memorial Baptist Church, assister by George T. Terrell, pastor of 
Trinity Baptist Church. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Avenue, Chesterfield Heights, Friday afternoon, May 8, 1836, at 5:40 o’clock 
p.m., Mrs. Riley Ann Grey, wife of the late Lubertus J. Grey and daughter of 
the late Joseph Mills Murphy and Mrs. Edith Saunders Murphy, aged 85 years.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Gregory Funeral Home, 3401 Grandy 
Street, Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock. Friends of the family invited to attend. 
Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
