Virginian Pilot June 25, 1999

Constance Freeman Griffin, 77, of the 500 block of Oak Grove Road, died June 23, 
1999, in her home.
Mrs. Griffin was born in Norfolk, the daughter of the late William T. and Olive 
H. Freeman. She was the widow of Daniel G. Griffin. She was a member of Church 
of Good Shepherd and a member of U.D.C. and V.F.W. Fleet Reserve in Norfolk.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. George W. Roper II of Norfolk; a niece, Mrs. 
Jack G. Traverlstead of Toano, Va.; a nephew, Richard Landon Johnston of 
Virginia Beach. She was predeceased by her sister, Mrs. Robert Ross Johnston of 
Virginia Beach.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Elmwood Cemetery by 
the Rev. George D. Heath. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, is handling 
arrangements.
