Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Friday, September 11, 1992 
Josie Lee Griffin, 89, of the 100 block of Hardy Ave., died Sept. 9, 1992, in a
hospital.

Mrs. Griffin was born in Jarratt. She was a member of First Calvary Baptist
Church and Salvation Army. She was the widow of Claude M. Griffin.

Survivors include two daughters, Merlyn C. Griffin of Norfolk and Claudia E.
Griffin of New York; a son, Melvin M. Griffin of Norfolk; three grandchildren
and 13 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in First Calvary Baptist Church
by the Rev. J.L. White. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Pretlow & Sons
Funeral Home, Chesapeake, is handling arrangements.
