Virginian-Pilot October 24, 1936
William Charles Griffin, Jr., aged six years, died at the family residence, 410 
West Thirty-fourth street, yesterday morning at 6:40 o'clock after an illness of 
five days. He was a native of Staten Island, N.Y., and had lived in Norfolk for 
four months. He was the son of William Charles and Mrs. Doris Stone Griffin and, 
in addition to his parents, is survived by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and 
Mrs. E. E. Stone, and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles P. Griffin, 
all of Norfolk.
The body will be taken from the funeral home of E. Lee Cox & Bro., 631 Westover 
avenue, to Elmwood Cemetery for funeral services and interment this afternoon at 
3:30 o'clock. The Rev. I. M. Ellis, pastor of the Park Avenue Presbyterian 
Church, and the Rev. H. S. Hardcastle, pastor of the Christian Temple, will 
officiate.
