Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, July 14, 1993 
Ernest Griffin, 77, of the 2800 block of Mapleton Ave., a retired longshoreman,
died July 9, 1993, in a local hospital.

Mr. Griffin was born in Norfolk. He retired from Local (NU)1248 after 40 years.
He was the son of the late Annie J. Griffin and the late Solomon Griffin and the
widower of Mamie Griffin.

Survivors include a daughter, Marguerite G. Jones of Norfolk; two sisters, Dr.
Edith Gilliam of Virginia Beach and Mary Holloway of Chesapeake; a brother,
Herbert Griffin of Grand Rapids, Mich.; eight grandchildren; 11
great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Tabernacle of Prayer for all
People, Norfolk, by Dr. M.M. Terry. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Hale
Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
