Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Monday, October 27, 2003 
Viola K. Griffin , 82, of the 2500 block of Tait Terrace, departed this life
Oct. 24, 2003 after a lengthy illness. Born in Norfolk, Mrs. Griffin was the
daughter of the late Robert E. and Florence M. Kindred. She attended Norfolk
Public Schools and was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. Mrs.
Griffin worked several years for the Lake Edwards Apartment maintenance
department. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Bute Street. Mrs. Griffin
was predeceased by her husband, Cornelius Griffin and son, Harold L. Churchill Jr.

Left to cherish her memory are a son, James O. Churchill of Temple Hills, Md.; a
daughter, Pamela D. Griffin of Norfolk; six grandchildren; four
great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

The funeral will be at noon Tuesday in Hale Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Robert
G. Murray officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
