Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Saturday, May 22, 1999 
Geraldine D. Griffin, 65, of the 5400 block of Tidewater Drive, died May 19,
1999, at Sentara Norfolk General.

Survivors include her husband, Peter Griffin of Alabama; four daughters, the
Rev. Claudia Tynes and Gwendolyn Parker, both of Norfolk, Gloria Clark of
Chesapeake, Kim Parham of Norfolk, and a special daughter for many years, Ruby
Midgette, also of Norfolk; two sons, Rufus Midgette and George Burrus Jr., both
of Norfolk; a sister, Villa Smith of Baltimore; 21 grandchildren; and 15
great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at New Hope Church of God in
Christ, 3232 Brest Ave., Norfolk, by Dr. Herman Clark Sr. Burial will be in
Calvary Cemetery , Norfolk. The family will receive friends and relatives at
1287 Rosefield Court where they will assemble for the procession. Metropolitan
Funeral Service, Berkley Ave., is in charge.
