Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Sunday, May 24, 1992 
Tommie Griggs, of the 1400 block of Ashland Circle, a retired self-employed 
painter, died May 20, 1992, in a hospital. 
Mr. Griggs was born in Lincolnton, N.C. 
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Griggs; a daughter, Shaniese Thomas of New 
York; his mother, Lucy M. Griggs of Virginia Beach; and a sister, Ophelia 
Griggs of New York. 
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Graves Funeral Home by 
Elder Henry Huff. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Friends may join the 
family at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
