Mrs. Grimes was a native of New Kent County and had made her home here 50 years, where she was well known and esteemed. She was the daughter of James H. and Eliza Williams Hockaday and is survived by her husband, George L. Grimes; four daughters, Mrs. B. W. Lockhart, of Portlock; Mrs. D. H. Starboard, and the Misses Effie V. and Anna Pearl Grimes, and one son, George Leonard Grimes, all of South Norfolk; one half-sister, Mrs. J. H. Hazelwood, of Newport News; one half-brother, John H. Hockaday, New Kent County, and six grandchildren. Mrs. Grimes was a member of the Chesapeake Avenue Methodist Church, South Norfolk. The body was removed to the Funeral Home of Francis A. Gay, Ohio and Rodgers streets, South Norfolk, where funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 3 0'clock. Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
