Mr. Grimes, who had worked in the lumber trade for a long term of years, was a native of Norfolk County, near Wallaceton, but had spent 48 years in this section. He was a member of the Berkley Avenue Baptist church and Elizabeth camp W.O.W. The son of the late Erby and Kiddy McPherson Grimes, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Charlotte Grimes; two children, Mrs. Albert E. Wilson, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Joseph Norfleet Grimes, of San Pedro, Calif., and one brother, George L. Grimes, of South Norfolk. The body was removed to J.R. Williams Funeral Home, 1027 Chesapeake avenue, South Norfolk, where funeral services will be conducted this afternoon at 4 o'clock. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
