Norfolk Ledger Dispatch February 26, 1934

James L. Grimes, 70, died at 12:30 a.m. today in the residence, 1018 Main 
Street, Berkley, after a short illness. He was a native of Norfolk County and 
was a son of the late Erby and Mrs. Kitty McPherson Grimes and was the husband 
of Mrs. Elizabeth Grimes. Besides his wife, he is survived by two brothers, 
George L. and Joseph Grimes.
The body was removed to the J.R. Williams Funeral Home, 1027 Chesapeake Avenue. 
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock in the 
Church of the Nazarene, Berkley. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.

Funeral services for James L. Grimes, 70, who died yesterday morning in the 
residence, 1018 South Main Street, will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 3 
o'clock in the Church of the Nazarene, Berkley. Burial will be in Magnolia 
Cemetery.
Mr. Grimes was a member of Tidewater Council, No. 30, Jr. O.U.A.M. and Lee 
Lodge, I.O.O.F. and Goodwill Council, No. 5, D. of A.
