Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark November 28, 1932

Marshall Adolphus Grimstead, aged 54, died at his residence, 1025 East Ocean 
View Avenue, yesterday at 12 o'clock noon. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. 
Catherine Turner Grimstead; two daughters, Mrs. M.G. Duffy and Miss Dorothy 
Grimstead, of Norfolk; two sons, R. Thane Grimstead, of Miami, Fla. and Marshall 
Grimstead, of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. H.J. Doolan, of Washington, D.C.; a niece, 
Miss Lucy Grimstead, of Washington and three grandchildren, Michael G. Jr., 
Sherwood and Edith Lee Duffy, of Norfolk. Mr. Grimstead was a member of the 
Ocean View Baptist Church, Ocean View Lodge 335, A.F. & A.M., John Walters 
Chapter 68, R.A.M., and J.O.U.A.M.
Mr. Grimstead was a native of Princess Anne County and had lived in Norfolk 
practically all his life. For many years he was connected with one of the best 
known local men's clothiers. Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-
Brown Funeral Home tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in Elmwood 
Cemetery.
