Grinder, 72, husband of Mrs. Nellie Miller Grinder, died at a Norfolk hospital yesterday at 4 p.m. Assistant manager of the Lavino Steamship Company, he was a native of Charles County, Md. and a resident of this section for 45 years, residing at 261 Carolina Avenue, Ingleside, at the time of his death. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the church's Holy Name Society. He was also a member of Norfolk Lodge No. 38 B.P.O. Elks. The body was taken to the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments. ********************************************************************* James F. Grinder - Funeral services for Mr. Grinder, who died Tuesday, were conducted at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, yesterday at 10 a.m. by the Rev. Francis J. Blakely. The Rev. Edward W. Johnston and the Rev. Richard Rivard were present in the sanctuary. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Pallbearers were C. L. Green, D. B. Owens, Jr., J. F. Hillegass, J. B. Dalton, Jr. and T. Joseph Johnston.
