The Virginian Pilot Sunday July 9, 1961
Joel Thomas Grinnell, 48, died Friday aboard the trawler Irma Virginia off 
Chincoteague.  He was a son of the late Constantine and Mrs. Maude Tomlinson 
Grinnell and a member of Beulah Methodist Church of Mathews County.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Emma West and Mrs. Barbara Stone of Norfolk and 
Mrs. Martha Ivey of Anderson, Ala.
A funeral service will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in Derry-Twiford Funeral 
Home.  Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetry
