Mr. Groner had gone to Cleveland on the Monday preceding his death to accept a position with a large manufacturing company, and at the time of his illness and death was living temporarily at the Central Y.M.C.A. in Cleveland. His body, accompanied by his brother, John Vaughn Groner, of New York, will arrive in Norfolk probably Tuesday morning, and the funeral arrangements will be announced later. Mr. Groner was married and leaves one daughter, Marguerite, aged 10. Duncan Lawrence Groner, Jr. Funeral services for Mr. Groner, whose death occurred Sunday at Cleveland, Ohio, were held yesterday afternoon at 5 o'clock, at the grave in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk, with the Rev. George P. Gunn, rector of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Meadowbrook, officiating. The casket was covered with a pall of Easter lilies, baby's breath and fern. The pallbearers were I. T. Walke, Jr., Tazewell Taylor, Jr., Gordon Tyler, Lee A. Jackson, James B. McCaw, Jr. and C. P. Breese, Jr. Additional Comments: While his tombstone shows his date of death to be June 30, 1934, from contemporary newspaper articles, it was Sunday, July 1, 1934.
