Virginian Pilot February 23, 1961

Mrs. Lucy Denny Grook, 83, widow of John F. Grook and daughter of Julius and 
Mrs. Adelia Gravelin Denny, died Wednesday at 1:15 p.m. in a Norfolk hospital. 
Mrs. Grook, a native of Oswego County, N.Y., lived in Norfolk 76 years, lately 
at 5815 Chesapeake Blvd.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Mildred Craig and one son, Julius Denny Grook, 
both of Norfolk, and three grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Friday at 10 
a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

NORFOLK - A funeral service for Mrs. Lucy Denny Grook, who died Wednesday, was 
held in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Friday by the Rev. Patrick Cassidy of 
Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Pallbearers 
were I. V. Denny, E. L. Hudgins, O. D. Lockwood, J. Bryce Day, Stanley McCoy and 
Julius E. Denny.
