WASHINGTON — Mrs. Viola King Groves, 81, a former resident of Norfolk, died 
Saturday in a nursing home.
A native of Baltimore, she was a daughter of Nelson Marion and Mrs. Isabelle 
Hosier King.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Carroll H. Smith of Norfolk; two granddaughters, 
Miss Carol Smith and Miss Nancy Jane Groves of Washington; a sister, Mrs. Slade 
Webber of Virginia Beach.
A committal service will be held Thursday at 1:15 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery, 
Norfolk.
