NORFOLK - Joseph John Gruszeczka, 58, of 8325 Mona Ave., a native of Kewanee, 
Ill., who lived here a number of years, died Friday in a hospital. He was the 
husband of Frances Haynes Gruszeczka.
He was retired from the Navy after 20 years of service and worked for the civil 
service at Norshipco. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
Other survivors include two daughters, Patricia Kay Gruszeczka and Mary Ann 
Gruszeczka, and four sons, Jan Joseph Gruszeczka, Gregory Thomas Gruszeczka, 
Joseph John Gruszeczka Jr. and James Michael Gruszeczka, all of Norfolk; two 
sisters, Valeria Sunlitis and Veronica Lepianka of Kewanee, Ill.; and four 
brothers, Chester Gruszeczka of Miami, John Gruszeczka and Stanley Gruszeczka of 
Kewanee and Edward Gruszeczka of Norfolk.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Pius X Catholic 
Church, with burial in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. A Christian wake service will 
be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk.
