Norfolk - Joseph Gunter of 1054 Holt St., the husband of Mrs. Lucille J. Gunter 
and a native of Franktown on the Eastern Shore, died Tuesday in Chesapeake 
General Hospital.

He was a son of Mrs. Hattie Gladstone.  He retired from Bell Moving & Storage 
Co. after seven years.

Other survivors include two stepsons, Larry Batts of Chesapeake and Jerome Batts 
of Norfolk;  a sister, Miss Lillian Gunter of Franktown;  nine grandchildren;  
three nephews, and two nieces.

A funeral will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in Antioch Baptist Church by Dr. I. 
Joseph Williams.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with Metropolitan Funeral 
Home in charge.  The family is at his home.
