During World War I she had recruiting duty in Norfolk as a yeomanette. A lifelong resident of Norfolk, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mrs. Sallie Parker Gurley. She was a member of American Legion and Epworth Methodist Church. Her only survivors are an aunt, Mrs. P. U. Kirkman of High Point, N.C., and several cousins. A funeral service will be conducted in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Sunday at 3:30 p.m. by the Rev. John B. Tate Jr., associate pastor of Epworth Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will assemble at the home of W. I. Patterson, 1419 Cedar Lane.
