Norfolk Virginian January 14, 1894

GURLEY - At the residence of her father, R.C. Barrett, No. 55 Walke Street, last 
evening at 11:30 o'clock, LULA AUGUSTA GURLEY, wife of Joseph Gurley, in the 
37th year of her age.
Funeral will take place MONDAY MORNING at 11 o'clock from the above residence. 
Friends and acquaintances of the family invited to attend.

The funeral of Mrs. Lula Augusta Gurley, wife of Mr. Joseph Gurley, took place 
yesterday morning at 11 o'clock from the residence of her father, Mr. R.C. 
Barrett, No. 55 Walke Street, and was conducted by Rev. G.P. Rutledge, of the 
Disciples' Church. The interment was in Elmwood Cemetery.  The following were 
the pallbearers: Messrs. L.V. Carey, George C. Billups, H.B. Vaughan, Edward M. 
Parker, H.E. Page and Charles Aydelotte.
