 The Virginian-Pilot, Saturday, December 23, 1978

NORFOLK - Mrs. Mary L. Guthrie of 825 Goff St., Apt. 229, the widow of Fred Guthrie
and a native of Elizabeth City, N.C., died Friday in a hospital.

She was retired and was a Baptist.

Survivors include a foster daughter, Ms. Shirley Wood, and a foster son, Eugene
Evans, both of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a sister, Mrs. Eula Chatman, and a brother, John T.
Evans Jr., both of Norfolk; and three foster grandchildren.

The body was taken to Riddick Funeral Service.

Additional Comments:
NORFOLK - A funeral for Mrs. Mary L. Guthrie of 825 Goff St., Apt. 229, will be held
Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in Queen Street Baptist Church by the Re. J. Jasper Freeman.
burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, with Riddick Funeral Service in charge.
