He was a graduate of V.P.I. and Boston Tech (M.I.T.) and, during World War I, taught a class in naval architecture in the Navy Y.M.C.A. From 1911 to 1918, he was a vocational director in South Carolina. For the past 15 years he was employed as a naval architect in the Norfolk Navy Yard and was supervisor of the scientific department. He was a member of Park Place Baptist Church and for 20 years taught the Men's Bible Class of the Sunday school. His fraternal affiliations include Atlantic Lodge No. 2, A.F. & A.M., Norfolk Royal Arch Chapter No. 1, Grice Commandery No. 16, Knights Templar, and charter membership in Khedive Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S, Oasis of Norfolk. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. H. Irving Dwyer, of Norfolk, a son, Lieut. Comdr. Louis Lee Guy, stationed at Oceanside, Calif.; four grandchildren, Irving Dwyer, Jr., and Phillis Marie Dwyer, both of Norfolk and Louis Lee Guy, Jr., and James Mayo Guy, of Calif., and a sister, Mrs. L. S. Walker, of Washington, D.C. The body will be taken from the Ewell & Williamson Funeral Home to the Park Place Baptist Church for funeral services tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
