VIRGINIA BEACH — Mrs. Annette Vail Gwathmey, of 1217 N. Bay Shore Drive, a native 
and lifelong resident of Tidewater, died Friday in a hospital. She was the widow 
of Dr. Lomax Gwathmey.
She was a member of Eastern Shore Chapel Episcopal Church.
Survivors include two nephews, Vernon A. Vail of Virginia Beach and Harry L. Vail 
of Houston, Tex.
A funeral will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk, by the 
Rev. Charles M. Riddle III. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road, is 
handling arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Virginia Beach Rescue 
Squad or the Discretionary Fund of Eastern Shore Chapel Episcopal Church.
