He was a guard at the MacArthur Memorial. He was a member of Elizabeth Masonic Lodge 34, Scottish Rite Bodies, Khedive Shrine Temple and Zion Grace United Methodist Church. Surviving besides his widow, are a daughter, Mrs. J.E. Warren of Newport News; a son, Air Force M. Sgt. Frank M. Hackney Jr. of Hampton; two sisters, Mrs. T.E. Parker of Virginia Beach and Mrs. S.O. Holland of Portsmouth; four brothers, C.D. Hackney and R.A. Hackney of Norfolk, L.G. Hackney of Portsmouth and H.E. Hackney of Richmond; and three grandsons. A funeral service will be conducted in Ewell & Williamson Funeral Home today at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
