Hageman, 92, died Saturday, January 13, 2018 in her residence. She was a native of Maui, Hawaii and a resident of Norfolk. She was the daughter of the late Manuel and Adelaide Medeiros Phillips and was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Leonard Hageman. She was a Charter member of St. Pius X Catholic Church where she was a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, member of the Prayer Group and Choir member. She dedicated many hours of service to her fellow parishioners. She was a Professed Member of the Secular Franciscans, Sacred Heart Fraternity since 1967 and served as Prefect for 8 years. Mrs. Hageman was a graduate of Rice's Business School, Tidewater Community College and earned her B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Norfolk State University in 1992. She was a published author who loved reading and travel. Her passion took her to Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Mrs. Hageman was preceded in death by her son Steven, 7 brothers and 9 sisters. She is survived by her children, Roy, Mark and Ann Hageman, their partners Terri Hageman, Cindy Metcalf and Kelly Matteson, her sister Floriene Matthews, her granddaughter Adelaide Hageman, her bonus grandson Darren Hobbs, extended family and lifelong friends past and present. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30am Thursday, January 18, 2018 at St. Pius X Catholic Church by the Reverend Father Nixon Negparanon. The burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Norfolk. The family will receive friends in the Norfolk Chapel of H.D.
