NORFOLK — Retired Navy CWO Charles Francis Hagen, 81, of 2009 Kenlake Place, 
died Friday in a Portsmouth hospital.
A native of New Orleans, he was the husband of Mrs. Hazel Newman Hagen. A 
veteran of World War I and World War II, he was a member of the Army-Naval 
Masonic Lodge of Fort Monroe; the John Walter Royal Arch Chapter 68, DAL, CHO 
Consistory 1, Charleston, S.C; and Retired Officers Association of Washington.
Survivors include a son, Howard E. Hagen of Hollywood, Md.; a sister, Mrs. 
Dorothy Scherer of Decatur, Ill; a brother, Henry E. Hagen of Jefferson, La.; 
two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Elmwood Cemetery by the Rev. 
Otis Colston, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Twiford Funeral Chapel has 
charge.
