Hahn, 74, of Norfolk, Virginia, passed away on September 10, 2016 peacefully at home. Jack was born in Staten Island New York on February 9, 1942. After graduation he joined the Navy, serving our country for 4 years and was Honorably Discharged. Although he spent several years as an accountant and treasurer for a corporation, the career he truly loved was woodworking. He became a carpenter and cabinet maker, a profession he pursued for the rest of his working life, becoming the owner and operator of Fabrications in Wood and Hahn's Cabinets. Jack was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Jack was married to Madeline (Post) Hahn on July 11, 1962 and they were married for 54 years. He so enjoyed woodworking that it was his main hobby as well as his profession. Jack and Madeline provided a home to many dogs and cats over the years and they loved training and showing their dogs, all of them receiving AKC Obedience Certificates. Jack is survived by his wife Madeline; brother Herman Hahn; half-sister Susan Ross; in-laws Frederick Capps, Gene & Tess Post; as well as nieces and nephews Theresa (Capps) & Jon Kim, Michael & Trish Capps, David & Missy Capps, Kurt Revak; and several great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy George and Florence Hahn, brother Roy Hahn and sister Floranne Revak. A funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 11:00AM on Friday September 16, 2016 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 6400 Newport Ave. by Father Joseph H. Metzger, III There will be visitation with family from 10:00 11:00AM, prior to the service. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please send any contributions to St. Mary's Infant home in Jack's name.
