NORFOLK - Charles Lawrence Halbleib, 78, son of the late Valentine A. and Mrs. 
Catherine Kinker Halbleib, died at 2:35 p.m. Saturday at a Norfolk hospital.
He was a native of Richmond and a resident of Norfolk for the past 52 years, 
residing at 2100 Lafayette Blvd, at the time of his death.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Al Taylor of Williamsburg, and Mrs. W. J. 
Davenport of Norfolk; three sons, Lawrence C. Halbleib of Virginia Beach, and 
Raymond W. Halbleib and Thomas J. Halbleib, both of Norfolk; four grandchildren; 
two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Julius B. Halbleib and Joseph Halblieb, and 
one sister, Mrs. Rosa Kelly, all of Richmond.
The body will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Christ the King 
Catholic Church, of which Mr. Halbleib was a member, for services Tuesday at 10 
a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the 
funeral apartments Monday at 7:30 p.m. The family will be at 3419 Somme Ave.
