Norfolk - Walter Haley of 1510 W. 43rd street, the husband of Mrs. Myrtle B. 
Haley, died in a hospital after a long illness.

A native of Anson county, NC, he was a son of the late William and Mrs. Liza G. 
Haley.

He was retired from Norfolk and Western Railway, a trustee of First Baptist 
Church, Lamberts Point, and a member of Excelsior Masonic Lodge 87.

Besides his widow, surviving are a son, James Haley of Norfolk;  three sisters, 
Mrs. Elie Diggs and Mrs. Delia (last name smeared) of Lilesville,NC, and Mrs. 
Bertha Diggs of Wadesboro, NC;  five grandchildren;  and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services were held in First Baptist Church, Lamberts Point, by the Rev. M. L. 
Williams.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge of 
arrangements.
