Norfolk Ledger Dispatch November 22, 1940

David H. Hall, aged 70, died at a Williamsburg hospital yesterday morning at 
7:10 o'clock after an illness of several months. He was a son of Robert and Mrs. 
Sally Sheehee Hall, a native of Arcola, Ga., and had been a resident of Norfolk 
24 years. Surviving him are a daughter, Mrs. N.B. Tennis, and three sons, Harold 
M., Thomas H. and David W. Hall and one grandchild, all of Norfolk; one sister, 
Mrs. V.W. Hayes, of Atlanta and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted this afternoon at 3 o'clock in the funeral 
chapel of James V. Derry, Colley and Harrington Avenues. The Rev. L.W. 
Strickler, D.D., pastor of the First Lutheran Church, officiated, assisted by 
the Rev. W.W. Williford, of the VEPCO Y.M.C.A. The body was sent to Washington, 
D.C. for cremation.
