Newport News, Dec. 22 — Mrs. Clara Garnett Hall, 74, widow of David Nelson Hall, 
died today at 1 a.m. at the Buxton Hospital after an illness of nine months.
A native of Minnesota, she lived in Norfolk 40 years before coming to Newport 
News eight years ago. She was a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church, Norfolk.
She is survived by three sons, Eugene L. Hall and Raymond N. Hall, of Norfolk, 
and Roger J. Hall, of Newport News; a daughter, Mrs. Grover Wade, of Newport 
News; a brother, Eugene Garnett, of Norfolk; 10 grandchildren and three great-
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Peninsula 
Funeral Home, Newport News, by the Rev. H. S. Hardcastle, pastor of the First 
Congregational-Christian Church. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, 
Norfolk, about 12:30 p.m.
