Virginian Pilot Sunday January 23, 1944
Basil Raymond Hall, aged 46, husband of Mrs. Edna Hatten Hall, died at the 
residence, 2822 Harrell avenue, last night at 9:20 o'clock.  Besides his wife, 
he is survived by two half-sisters, Mrs. Minnie Berger and Mrs. Jessie 
Blanchard, both of South Norfolk; two half-brothers, A.L. Hall, of Norfolk, 
and 
Howard Smith, of Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.  Mr. Hall was a native 
and lifelong resident of Norfolk.  He was manager of the Byrd Theatre, and had 
been in the movie business for 38 years.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home tomorrow 
afternoon at 3:30 o'clock.  Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
