Virginian-Pilot, October 8, 1956
NORFOLK - Jacob Halpern, 72, husband of the late Lena Kanter Halpern and son of
Israel and Mary Halpern, a resident of Norfolk for the last 50 years, died at
his residence, 524 Washington Park, yesterday at 7:28 a.m.
He was a member of B'Nai Israel Congregation, Brith Sholom Lodge, United
Commercial Travelers and B.P.O. Elks Lodge No. 38.
He is survived by four sons, Norris Halpern of Norfolk, William Halpern of Los 
Angeles, Calif, Alfred Halpern of San Francisco, Calif., and Dr. Julius Halpern 
of Saclay, France.
Funeral services will be conducted in the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts today at 4 
p.m. Burial will be in B'Nai Israel Cemetery.
