Norfolk Virginian Pilot February 14, 1940
Mrs. Maggie C. Halstead, of 504 First View street, Ocean View, died yesterday 
afternoon at 2:10 o'clock at a local hospital after a long illness, in the 
sixty-seventh year of her age.  She formerly was of Edenton, N.C. and had been a 
resident of Ocean View 32 years.  She was the wife of S.G. Halstead and daughter 
of the late William and Eugene Simpson.  Besides her husband, she is survived by 
three sons, H.S. Halstead, of Richmond and William G. and S.B. Halstead, of 
Ocean View; three daughters, Mrs. Steve Martin and Mrs. H.N. Patterson, of Ocean 
View and Mrs. David Fineberg, of Washington, D.C.; two brothers, L.H. Simpson, 
of Norfolk and Cecil Simpson, of North Carolina; eight grandchildren and several 
nieces and nephews.
The body was taken to the funeral home of Paul B. Warren & Son, 1102 Colonial 
avenue, where funeral services will take place tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock.  
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
