Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark June 8, 1929
John Monroe Halstead died at a local hospital yesterday afternoon at 5:30 o'clock. 

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. J. Louise Moak, of Charleston, S.C. and Miss 
Evelyn Halstead, of Philadelphia; two sisters, Mrs. Lillie D. Taylor, of Norfolk 
and Mrs. Sarah F Youse, of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, S Gaston Halstead, of 
Norfolk and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Twenty-
ninth and Granby streets, tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock.  Burial will be in 
Elmwood Cemetery.
