Virginian Pilot Sunday March 17, 1901

Miss Josephine Halstead, the second oldest daughter of Dr. G.N. and Mrs. Halstead, 
died at the family residence, in the county, Friday night at 11:45 o'clock.  Miss 
Halstead was 31 years of age and had been a great sufferer for any years.   Her 
death has caused great sorrow to her parents and their many friends extend sincere 
sympathy.  The remains will be interred in Magnolia cemetery this afternoon at 3 
o'clock. The funeral services will be conducted by Dr. S.S. Lambeth, pastor of the 
Liberty Street M.E. Church.
