Virginian Pilot December 13, 1980

Mrs. Carrie Lena Halstead, 78, of 7212 Marcy St., the widow of Arthur Lee 
Halstead and a native of Rocky Ford, Colo., died Thursday in a hospital.
She was a Baptist.
Survivors include four sons, Arthur L. Halstead Jr. of Virginia Beach, Franklin 
W. Halstead of Norfolk, Clyde O. Halstead of Memphis, Tenn., and J. Ralph 
Halstead of Orlando, Fla.; a brother, Claude Overby of Westfield, W.C.; 14 
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held today at 2 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery by the Rev. Aubrey D. 
Maye.  Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, has charge.  The 
family will be at 2521 Broad Bay Road, Virginia Beach.  They request that 
flowers be omitted and memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer 
Society.
