The Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark October 18, 1925

William Jarvis Halstead, aged 57, widely known furniture dealer, died at his 
residence, 5 Elmhurst Apartment, Colonial and Westover avenues, yesterday 
morning at 4:35 o'clock.  He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lizzie Clarke 
Halstead; a son, William J. Halstead Jr.; a daughter,
Miss Elizabeth Halstead; three brothers, B.B. Halstead of Los Angeles, Cal. and 
J.W. and P.D. Halstead of Norfolk.
Mr. Halstead was a member of the firm of Halstead & Carter and has been in 
business here about 25 years. Funeral
services will be held at the residence tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.
