Virginian Pilot December 24, 1899

HALSTEAD - At the residence of her brother-in-law, James E. Martin, 727 W. 
Brambleton Avenue, Saturday, December 23d, 1899, at 6 o'clock p.m., FRANCES 
HALSTEAD, in the 79th year of her age.
The funeral will take place TOMORROW (Monday) AFTERNOON at 2 o'clock from the 
residence. Friends and acquaintances respectfully invited to attend.

                            FRANCES HALSTEAD
The obsequies of this venerable and highly esteemed lady, who passed away at the 
home of her brother-in-law, Mr. James E. Martin, No. 727 Brambleton avenue, 
Brambleton Ward, Saturday, at the advanced age of 78 years, was held from the 
residence at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon and were conducted by Rev. S.C. Hatcher, 
of Queen Street M.E. Church.  The interment was in Elmwood Cemetery.  Following 
were the pall-bearers:  Messrs. H.S. Cooper, S.N. Brickhouse, W.W. Vicar, C.E. 
Jones, Benjamin F. Reynolds and W.E. Simpson.
