The Norfolk Ledger Dispatch October 27, 1926

Mrs. Marie Walker Halstead, aged 74 years, died this morning at 9:30 o'clock at 
her residence, 49 Franklin Avenue, South Norfolk, after an illness of two 
months. She was born in Middlesex County, Va., but had lived here most of her 
life. She was a daughter of the late Cornelius and Mrs. Emmaline Palmer Walker 
and is survived by her husband, M.B. Halstead; one brother, C.E. Walker; three 
nephews and six nieces. She was a consistent member of South Norfolk Baptist 
Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at South Norfolk Baptist Church on Friday 
afternoon at 4 o'clock and interment will be in the family lot in Magnolia 
Cemetery.
