The Norfolk Landmark July 8, 1883

Mr. Jerome Halstead breathed his last yesterday at 11 o'clock. He had long been a 
sufferer of chronic disease and was conscious of his near dissolution. He was a 
quiet unobtrusive citizen and will be sadly missed by a bereaved widow and her 
three helpless orphans--- by the former keenly, to whom he was always a kind and 
affectionate husband. He was member in good standing of Chesapeake Tribe, I.O. of 
R.M.
